  • Dental Flight ‘Puts the bite in the fight’

    The 14th Medical Operations Squadron Dental Flight is essential for Airmen and pilots to be in good health. Poor dental health may prevent Airmen from completing their job, so the dental flight works consistently to complete x-rays and perform dental check-ups or cleanings with new and high quality tools to ensure all Airmen are in top condition.
  • MSU veterinarian students explore world of Military Working Dog

    Veterinary students from Mississippi State University visited the 14th Security Forces Squadron Military Working Dog Kennel and aircraft static displays Oct. 23, on Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi. Members of the 14th SFS MWD Kennel described the daily activities of an MWD and their handlers. They gave an in-depth explanation of the MWD’s job and the equipment used with the dog.

  • Weeks takes command of 14th FTW

    Col. Samantha Weeks took command of the 14th Flying Training Wing during a ceremony, Aug. 6., here. Maj. Gen. Patrick Doherty, 19th Air Force commander from Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, presided over the ceremony, in which Col. Douglas Gosney relinquished his command. Doherty then passed the wing’s guidon to Weeks to signify her taking command.
  • Civil Air Patrol cadets get taste of pilot life

    About 40 cadets from the Civil Air Patrol are visiting Columbus Air Force Base July 22-30 to train as if they were a pilot undergoing Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training.
