  • Take command with TRICARE changes: Enrollments shifting from fiscal to calendar year starting in January 2018

    Starting Jan. 1, 2018, cost changes for TRICARE benefits transition from a fiscal year period to a calendar year period. Changing from fiscal year (Oct. 1 – Sept. 30) to calendar year (Jan. 1 – Dec. 31) makes the TRICARE benefit consistent with civilian health plans. The change will largely affect those plans which have an enrollment fee and are currently billed by the fiscal year.
  • Airmen showcase AF opportunities to 7,000 students during career expo

    TUPELO, Miss. – More than 110 Airmen from Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi, spent several days showing more than 7,000 eighth-grade students, from 17 northeast Mississippi counties, some of the vast career opportunities the Air Force offers during the Imagine the Possibilities Career Expo Oct. 3-5 at the BancorpSouth Arena in Tupelo.
  • CAFB Airmen to compete in Alpha Warrior at Hurlburt AFB

    Seven Airmen completed their qualification for the Alpha Warrior competition Oct. 2 here. Columbus AFB will send seven members to compete in the Alpha Warrior course Oct. 14 at Hurlburt Field, Florida, where they will try to complete the course in the fastest time to reach the No. 1 spot in this year’s event.

  • Commissaries begin accepting MILITARY STAR card

    To offer greater convenience to service members and their families and further strengthen funding of critical military Quality-of-Life programs, the military exchanges’ Exchange Credit Program is expanding acceptance of the MILTARY STAR card to Commissaries around the world. Leaders from the Defense Commissary Agency and the exchanges gathered at the Fort Lee Commissary, the first location to accept the card, to officially kick off the rollout during a ceremony Oct. 5.
