    Licensed pharmacy technician, casual lieutenant works at Columbus AFB Pharmacy

    Before going through pilot training, the Air Force offers lieutenants an opportunity to apply the skillsets they have gained throughout college or through prior occupations, by working at different agencies around base. The opportunity is otherwise known as the Casual Lieutenant Program. Second Lt. Ian Kline, 14th Medical Group casual lieutenant, is one of the many who have gone through the program.

    Columbus AFB medical Airmen ensure readiness through TCCC

    The 14th Medical Group held the Wing’s first on-site Tactical Combat Casualty Care All Combatants course July 16, 2020, at the Kortiz Clinic, training 10 medics from Columbus Air Force Base. The course provides medics with life-saving skills in addition to tactical field care, tactical evacuation care and essential need-to-know capabilities to save lives while undergoing hostile combat situations.

    In light of the pressing times that COVID-19 has presented, the 14th Medical Group has come up with a way for Airmen and civilian workers to know that they are appreciated and united.

    Columbus’s new command chief integrates into wing mission

    Chief Master Sergeant Trevor James, 14th Flying Training Wing command chief, began his immersion Jan. 16, 2020, on Columbus Air Force Base, Miss., by taking a tour through the 14th Operations Group, where he met Airmen and their family members of each squadron.
  • Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi, also has numerous ways to get help for PTSD and other mental health issues.     Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a condition that develops in some individuals who are exposed to a shocking, traumatic, or dangerous event.

    Hub of the Kortiz Clinic: The 14th MDSS pharmacy

    Each year 109,000 prescriptions are written for over 18,000 beneficiaries, and each week roughly 1,500 patients seen by the 14th Medical Support Squadrons pharmacy technicians.
