Legacy in the Sky
From top, a T-6 Texan II, T-1A Jayhawk, and T-38 Talon fly in formation over Columbus Air Force Base, Miss., March 24, 2026. The heritage formation was flown to honor the legacy of the T-1A Jayhawk as the airframe prepares for retirement after 30 years of service. The flight symbolizes the transition of the 14th Flying Training Wing’s specialized undergraduate pilot training mission toward a modernized future. (U.S. Air Force photo by Melissa Duncan)
