Where Honor Finds a Home

Airmen assigned to the 49th FTS set fire to a piano during a piano burn ceremony marking the official renaming of Holmes Road at Columbus Air Force Base, Feb. 9, 2026. The ceremony, a long-standing tradition in the military aviation community used to honor heritage and commemorate significant transitions, served as a tribute to the history of Holmes Road and the personnel who served along it.
