Service members from the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard, U.S. Air Force Band’s Ceremonial Brass, and the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) Caisson Detachment conduct full military funeral honors with escort for U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Richard Erb in Section 8 of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, Dec. 3, 2025. Erb followed his lifelong passion for flying by serving in the U.S. Air Force for over 28 years. During this time, he made major contributions as a tactical fighter pilot to the A-7, A-10 and F-15 programs. He also served in Vietnam where he flew C-130s. Erb’s military awards include the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal w/ OLC. He was laid to rest alongside his wife, Barbara.
