In a sea of red, participants of the Fire Prevention Week 5k ran down Independence Ave. Friday, Oct. 11. This year’s theme for Fire Prevention Week was “Preventing kitchen fires”. The Fire Department hosted many events for the week to include a parade through base housing, a Fire Department Open House, a Base Fire Muster Competition and lastly, the 5k Fire Prevention Run.
