CAFB Top 3 spotlight
As a newly promoted non-commissioned officer, Staff Sgt. Stevens, 14th Security Forces Squadron, has stepped up and accepted the challenge of being an NCO in the Air Force and has positively impacted his subordinates as well as his peers. He is currently the Security Forces Electronic Security Systems manager and is the single focal point of all alarm issues no matter the time of day. He responds to fix and/or create work orders on the systems. Due to manpower shortfalls with the 14th SFS, Stevens performs his normal assigned duties and is currently assigned to Flight working as the Emergency Communications Center Dispatcher/ L.E. Desk. He traded his primary job in to support flights as a dispatcher for days flight. He oversees all unit controller training covering a 24 hour/ 7 days a week period as well as certifies other controllers on the equipment. As if this was not enough he is also performing unit training after his assigned duty day in SABC, Arming and Use of Force and SF baton. Stevens was recognized by HQ AETC for his alarm install and program by receiving the only AFAM to date. Stevens duties not only affect the unit but the entire wing. His leadership role far surpasses his peers and is the reason why he is my choice as well as Capt. Hansens’ nominee for this month’s Top 3 NCO Spotlight award.
