Col. George Ross, 14th Flying Training Wing vice commander, presents Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training Class 11-01's Pilot Partners, JoAnn Ferguson, GNC at Leigh Mall, her husband Howard Ferguson; and Gerell Herron, Army and Air Force Exchange Service, with a token of the classes appreciation at their graduation breakfast Oct. 21 at Columbus AFB. Each class is partnered with two business or civic organizations during their year of training. This program is designed to foster closer ties between the community and Columbus Air Force Base. Lt. Col. Brent Green, 43rd FTS assistant director of operations, is sprayed with champagne and water by his family April 13, 2018, on Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi. He is one of the original cadre in the Firebirds. It was shortly after the squadron expanded in 1999 from teaching only in the T-38C Talon to teaching all airframes that he was hired.
