Eugene Hall, 14th Operations Group, is a retired Marine who has continued to serve the United States Military as a civilian Airman after his career in the U.S. Marine Corps.

During his visit, Gen. Robin Rand, Commander of the Air Education and Training Command, presented a 50 year Certificate of Service to Hall, celebrating a half-century of service in the United States Military March 26, at the base chapel where Hall's wife works.

Rand's wife, Kim, and Chief Master Sgt. Gerardo Tapia, AETC Command Chief Master Sergeant, were visiting Columbus Air Force Base to speak with Airmen directly to address any concerns they may have.

Hall's wife of 25 years, who was also in attendance, received a coin from Rand, while Eugene was given a pin also commemorating his service.

"I am thankful to both Ida and Eugene for 50 years of service and sacrifice for our nation both as a Marine and now as a civilian Airman," Col. James Sears, 14th Flying Training Wing Commander.
