Integrated Lodging Program Pilot launched for DTS Published June 15, 2015 14 CPTS COLUMBUS AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- On June 15, 2015, the Department of Defense will launch a new Integrated Lodging Program Pilot through the Defense Travel System (DTS) that will direct travelers who are TDY to select pilot sites to stay in government (DoD) or preferred commercial lodging facilities. This program will ensure that travelers are staying in quality lodging facilities that are close to TDY locations, are protected from certain fees, and are offered amenities such as free internet and parking at no additional cost, "all while staying in rooms that are at or below per diem". Currently there are several installations that will launch with this program, they are Charleston, SC (Joint Base Charleston); Dayton, OH (Wright-Patterson Air Force Base); Norfolk, VA (Select area U.S. military installations); Saratoga Springs, NY (Naval Support Activity Saratoga Springs); Seattle-Tacoma Airport area, WA; Tampa, FL (MacDill Air Force Base); Twentynine Palms, CA (Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center). If DTS is not available, the traveler may use CTO to book their stay. As a last resort and at their own risk, a traveler may book their own lodging outside of DTS, however without adequate justification to the approving official, lodging reimbursement will be limited to the DoD installation rate. Some examples of justification are: 1. VOCO (Verbal orders of Commander) 2. Unacceptable distance from TDY location 3. Detrimental to the mission (this may include last minute itinerary changes while in a travel status) 4. Lower rate available Additional information can be found at http://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/site/lodging.cfm. Questions or concerns should be directed to your squadron DTS officials or the base Financial Services Office via email at 14CPTS.FCS@us.af.milm, or via telephone at 662-434-2705, or in person. We are located on the main floor of the Mission Support Group (MSG) Building.
