Educators learn about aerospace at CAFB Published July 19, 2007 By Airman 1st Class Danielle Powell 14th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs COLUMBUS AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- Seven educators attending a conference at the University of Alabama at Birmingham visited CAFB Friday. While here the educators toured different facilities on base and were even able to take part in a T-38 simulator. The purpose of the tour was to expose the educators to new information on aerospace technologies so they can, in turn, use it the information to better inform their students. The educators received a wing mission brief to prepare them for their day at CAFB. They then toured the flightline, BLAZE Hangar and then took part in the simulators. While on the flightline they were able to see the planes that are flown at CAFB daily. They also were able to learn the role that DynCorp plays here at Columbus AFB. These educators were Elementary and High School teachers interested in aerospace. This tour gave these educators the opportunity to "broaden the horizons of their students," said 2nd Lt. Kenneth Brakora, 14th Flying Training Wing.
