Ops AF cadets visit CAFB Published July 19, 2007 By Airman 1st Class Danielle Powell 14th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs COLUMBUS AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- The third rotation of Operations Air Force cadets have arrived at Columbus AFB. Since their arrival Sunday, the cadets have been many places on base. They have enjoyed briefings, lunch with the Command Chief Master Sergeant, Chief Master Sgt. Ron Bowlan, and even a wing mission brief While on base, the cadets are enjoying lodging at the Magnolia Inn. The group enjoyed flights in the newest aircraft on base, the T-6 Texan, Thursday. The group flew with the 41st Flying Training Squadron. Later today, the cadets will also be able to tour the City of Columbus. After returning from their tour, they will attend Track Select for Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training Class 08-05. Beginning Monday, the group will split up and the cadets will be able to shadow different offices on base. There will be three shadow sessions, so cadets will have an opportunity to see different career fields that they may be interested in after college. The cadets will attend the Enlisted Promotions ceremony Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the Columbus Club. They will also attend graduation Friday for SUPT Class 07-12. Following graduation the cadets will take flights in the T-1A Jayhawk. After taking a break from the shadowing to attend graduation Friday, the cadets will start up again July 30. This will run through Aug. 2. The cadets will depart base Aug. 3.
