Aircraft and aircrews representing the spectrum of Air Force missions will descend upon Columbus AFB Nov. 3 to provide students, instructor pilots and their families with first-hand accounts of each airframe's role in current global operations.

Aircraft are scheduled to begin arriving on Friday afternoon. The aircrews will attend the Assignment Night for Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training Class 08-02 and Blazing Balls of O'Leary Crud Tournament at the Columbus Club. This will provide an informal forum for the visiting crews to meet and converse with BLAZE Team members.

Briefings on nearly every major airframe will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday morning in the Kaye Auditorium. These briefings are mandatory for all students and first assignment instructor pilots. Aircrew briefings are open to current and soon to be students and instructor pilots only.

The briefings will be followed by a burger burn in Freedom Park. Visiting aircraft will be on static display at the SAC ramp from noon to 2 p.m. While short-notice operational taskings will take precedence over Career Day, the following aircraft are currently scheduled: F-15C, F-15E, B-52, C-130J, C-17, C-21, KC-10, KC-135 and UH-1.

Attendees are encouraged to bring family members to the burger burn and static display portion of the event. Buses will shuttle attendees from the Kaye Auditorium to the flightline beginning at noon, and will run continuously until the end of the static display period. Limited parking will be available on the SAC ramp, therefore all students will use the shuttle bus and IPs are encouraged to use the shuttle but, may drive their POV to the designated SAC Alert parking area.
