General Pray offers advice to SUPT 08-15 graduates Published Oct. 9, 2008 By Airman Josh Harbin 14th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs COLUMBUS AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- Brigadier Gen. Bradley Pray spoke to the Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training class 08-15 in a ceremony held at Kaye Auditorium Friday. General Pray is the Deputy Director of Air, Space and Information Operations, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB, Ill. He is responsible for policy and procedures for worldwide air operations and transportation functions assigned to the command. He is a command pilot with more than 4,800 flight hours in the C-130 E/H models. The General spoke of the importance of leaders setting examples for their subordinates by doing things correctly and efficiently by adhering to the Air Force Core Values. "You will encounter opportunities to take shortcuts and cut corners... don't do it because you set the standard for your crew and those around you," said General Pray. Later during an interview following the ceremony, General Pray wished to remind pilots that attitude is everything and everyone contributes to the overall accomplishment of the mission. He said, "You've got to be willing to go above and beyond your own and others' expectations." Reflecting on the BLAZE Team's mission of training pilots, General Pray noted, "Columbus AFB puts forth a tremendous training effort. The wing's leadership has done a great job ensuring all the student pilots know what to expect."
