Jacob Corbin 14th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs COLUMBUS AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- The soon-to-be commander of the 14th Flying Training Wing will take command in a ceremony Wednesday, July 28 at 10 a.m. Col. Barre R. Seguin will take the place of outgoing commander Col. Roger Watkins. In his last assignment, Colonel Seguin was Commander, 8th Operations Group, 8th Fighter Wing, Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea. As commander, he was responsible for the conduct of conventional air-to-ground and air-to-air missions in support of wartime taskings to defend the Republic of Korea. Prior to his remote assignment as the 8th OG/CC at Kunsan AB, Korea, Colonel Seguin was Special Assistant to the Commander, U.S. European Command and Supreme Allied Commander, Europe, SHAPE, Belgium. While Colonel Seguin served at Kunsan AB, his family remained in Belgium and will rejoin them here. The colonel is married to his wife Nancy, and they have three children. Colonel Seguin was commissioned in 1988 as a distinguished graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps. He is a veteran of Operations Southern Watch, Deliberate Guard, Deliberate Forge and Joint Guardian. Colonel Seguin is a combat mission commander with more than 3,000 flying hours.
