Griffin Threatt, a 10-year-old from Clinton, Mississippi, and his family visited the base as part of the “Pilot For a Day” program. With the partnership of the Columbus-Lowndes Chamber of Commerce, children with life-long illnesses get a chance to experience a day with the Air Force custom-tailored to their desires and capabilities.

During his visit, Threatt and his family saw displays of all three Columbus AFB training aircraft, toured the fire department and air traffic complex and experienced a T-6 simulator flight before receiving thanks and a memento personally from Col. Doug Gosney, 14th Flying Training Wing Commander.
