Columbus Air Force Base held the two-day Wings Over Columbus Heritage to Horizons 2014 Open House and Air Show April 5-6 on the flightline. This year's theme highlighted the Air Force heritage, showcasing planes ranging from World War II such as the P-38 Lightning to the Air Force's latest fighter jet, the F-35.

Over 45,000 people attended the weekend festivities which included 10 aerial acts featuring the Air Force Thunderbirds and 30 ground exhibits. Exhibits included the Critical Care Action Team and the World War II Bomber, the B-25 nicknamed "Panchito" from the Disabled American Veterans.

Aside from the USAF Thunderbirds, aerial acts such as the 2013 World Freestyle Champion Rob Holland, the Alabama Boys, and the F4U Corsair left the audience speechless.

Columbus AFB showcased its three trainer aircraft, the T-6A Texan II, the T-38 Talon, and the T-1A Jayhawk in a formation as one of the acts.

While Sunday was cut short due to bad weather, all aerial acts performed on both days.
