Airmen from Columbus Air Force Base gathered at the newly-reopened bowling center Dec. 1 after being closed for quality of life changes.

The bowling center was built in 1961 and is currently celebrating 55 years of servicing the Columbus Air Force Base community.

Col. John Nichols, 14th Flying Training Wing Commander, kicked off the events with opening remarks and throwing the first bowling ball.

Renovations included new paint, facility deep cleaning, a new soda dispensing system, new bowling shoes and bowling pins. The bowling center offered specials and promotions to their patrons throughout the week. There was also a menu makeover to focus more on most popular items and improving customer service.
