Airmen and local volunteers wrapped presents Dec. 18 at the Columbus Club for the 2014 Happy Fund Shop and Wrap.

Three hundred and fifty underprivileged children from the local area were hand-selected by their teachers to receive presents for Christmas bought by the Happy Irby Fund.

The event started off at 6:30 a.m. at a local retail store where volunteers picked out clothing for the children. The clothes were then taken to the Columbus Club where a group of volunteers separated and wrapped all of the gifts.

The Happy Fund Shop and Wrap started back in 1958 by George "Happy" Irby with tip money he earned working in the Columbus Club. It has since grown and now presents are bought with donations to the Happy Irby Fund.
