CAFB's own achieves status as 'All-American' post commander

Charles Fiske, 14th Civil Engineer Squadron, was recently recognized for having achieved "All-American" status as a post commander by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. 

For his achievements, Mr. Fiske was recognized at the 107th annual VFW National Convention in Reno, Nevada, Aug. 25 through Aug. 31. 

"(Mr.) Fiske, commander of Post 4272 in Columbus, is one of only 101 out of approximately 8,500 VFW post commander's world-wide selected for the All American Post Commander," said Jim Mueller, VFW Commander-in-Chief. 

Nominations for this honor are based on outstanding achievement in membership growth, Buddy Poppy sales, and 100 percent participation in other VFW programs that benefit veterans and their communities. 

"The title of All American Commander is one of the most prestigious honors given by our organization," Mr. Mueller said. 

This is Mr. Fiske's second time being selected for this award. 

The VFW assists all veterans and their families in obtaining veterans entitlements and other services. In addition, the organization works for the well being of those serving on active duty, in the National Guard and the Reserve. 

Founded in 1899, it's nearly 1.8 million members are located in more than 9,000 Posts worldwide.
