Fall Blaze race a huge success Published Sept. 25, 2007 By Kesia Walker 14th Medical Operations Squadron COLUMBUS AFB, Miss. -- The Semi-Annual Blaze Race was done in conjunction with the 60/65 anniversary's week-long events. The first 93 registered participants received Blaze Race T-shirts with the commemorative 60/65 logo. Approximately 200 runners participated in the 1.5K fun run/walk, 5K and 10K races respectively. The Blaze Race ended with awards presented by Col. Dave Gerber, 14th Flying Training Wing commander, to Amazing Race and Blaze Race winners. Bennet Krawchuk was the first place male runner for the 10K with a time of 39:32. Kristi Contardo was the 10K female winner with a time of 45:39. Derrick France was the male winner for the 5K with a time of 18:53. Terry Luzader won the female 10K with a time of 19:37. Congratulations to all the winners and participants of the BLAZE Race.
