Seven members of the 37th Flying Training Squadron Bengal Tigers took to the skies over Shaw AFB, S.C., for the annual Tiger Meet of the Americas convention from Nov. 2 to 5.

Two-ship formations of T-6A Texan II and T-37 Tweet aircraft, led expertly by Maj. Doug Hare and Capt. Kenn Cates, arrived within three seconds of their designated Time-Over-Target at Shaw AFB, winning the fly-in competition and kicking off a weekend of events hosted by Shaw's 79th Fighter Squadron.

The Tiger Meet of the Americas is an annual event, rallying not only USAF Tiger Squadrons, but NATO Tiger Squadrons as well. Its main purpose is to bolster morale and camaraderie between Tiger units and further develop the Tiger network worldwide. This year's event included pilots from Air Combat Command and Air Education and Training Command, as well as aircrew from Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain, Norway, Portugal, Netherlands and Belgium.

This year's Tiger Meet included land-time competitions, social events and a large force exercise involving F-16s from the 79th FS and a NATO E-3 AWACS aircraft. Participants from the 37th Bengal Tigers included Maj. Hare, Capt. Cates, Captains Dustin Hudson, Josh Boudreaux, Lacy Gunnoe and Dave Keggereis and 1st Lt. Tim Grebs. All participated in the land time competition, golf and skeet shooting competitions, orientation in the F-16, as well as a Crud outing in which the Bengal Tigers brought down a six-man team of F-16 pilots from the 79th FS. Tiger Meet concluded with a picture of all Tigers and their respective aircraft, culminating a weekend of camaraderie between Tigers from across the globe.
