Columbus AFB will be hosting the sixth annual Earth Day Educational Fair/Arbor Day Ceremony April 15. This event will take place at Freedom Park from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. CAFB is expecting over 500 4th grade students from City of Columbus and Lowndes County Schools. All base home schooled children are also invited to attend.

Students will rotate through numerous environmental learning stations manned by businesses and organizations from all over the state, to include Keep Mississippi Beautiful, Ducks Unlimited and Weyerhaeuser. Local sponsors are providing a hot dog lunch for all students.

Columbus AFB will also celebrate Arbor Day. The Mississippi Forestry Commission will present the base with its 14th consecutive Tree City USA award and 6th Growth Award.
