The BLAZE Team once again helped show its mutual support for the community as members from Columbus Air Force Base volunteered to help with this year's Columbus pilgrimage.

Over 160 volunteers from Columbus AFB helped pull-off the 70th Annual Columbus Pilgrimage, which features tours of the cities many antebellum homes by individuals in period clothing.

"Thank you to all the volunteers for being so willing to help with Pilgrimage and support the local community," said Columbus AFB Volunteer Coordinators Angie Reth and Crystal Branco. "You all did a great job." Mrs. Reth is the wife of the 14th Operations Group Commander Col. David Reth, and Mrs. Branco is the wife of 1st Lt. Scott Branco, 48th Flying Training Squadron.

"It is a wonderful experience to get involved with the community," Mrs. Reth said. "We had no problems finding volunteers (from the base) everyone was so excited about it!"

The volunteer coordinators also wanted to thank Nancy Carpenter for all her hospitality and support to the base volunteers, and Patricia Wilson who worked "untold hours sewing, creating and working miracles on dresses."
