Columbus Air Force Base water service impacted by off base water main break Published July 19, 2010 14th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs COLUMBUS AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. -- Due to an off base water main break, water service to Columbus AFB has been cut off. Therefore, effective immediately, all Columbus AFB personnel are directed to conserve water. Housing is the biggest user of water on base. If on base, do not water your lawns; minimize showers, baths and kitchen use. Columbus AFB is currently using water from our two reserve water towers. The two towers provide less than 12 hours of reserve supply, possibly more through good conservation. We are working with our utility provider to restore service as fast as possible.
