Members of Team BLAZE recently mixed up some holiday cheer for the young men and women living in dorms on-base here.

The 2010 Holiday Cookie Drive collected cookies baked by Team BLAZE members and wrapped up by members of the Columbus Spouses Club to help give CAFB dorm residents a taste of something sweet.

Marti Ross, Cookie Drive chairman and wife of 14th Flying Training Wing Vice Commander Col. George Ross, said this year's drive collected 8,412 cookies for dorm residents.

The 701 dozen cookies were dropped off at the Columbus Club or locations around base and were then mixed up and packaged to be distributed to young officers and Airmen on-base.

Mrs. Ross thanked the members of Team BLAZE for their contributions to this year's event, saying "because of your generosity of time and baking skills, the 2010 Base Cookie Drive was a wonderful success."

"There was such a variety of cookies and it was evident people spent a lot of time baking and decorating," Mrs. Ross said. "From our bakers to those who bagged, sealed and stapled, and those who delivered to dorms and offices all over the base- this never would have happened without your help. Columbus AFB is truly special because of the wonderful people who live and work here!"
