Jacob Corbin 14th Flying Training Wing Public Affairs COLUMBUS AIR FORCE BASE, MIss. -- Department of Defense officials recently announced two former Team BLAZE leaders were selected for promotion to the rank of brigadier general. Col. Roger Watkins, former 14th Flying Training Wing commander, and Col. Mark Brown, former 14th Mission Support Group commander, were nominated by President Barack Obama for the promotion based on recommendations by the Air Force. Both colonels will be officially selected once the Senate approves the President's nominations. Colonel Watkins was commander of the 14th FTW from June 2008 to July 2010, is currently serving as the Commander, Jeanne M. Holm Center for Officer Accessions and Citizen Development, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. Colonel Brown, who was the 14th MSG/CC from June 2007 until July 2009, is currently Director, Financial Management and Comptroller, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB, Ill. Forty-two Air Force colonels in all were nominated for promotion to O-7.
