Thanks to the continued support of our patrons and dedicated volunteers, the Columbus Spouses Club Thrift Shop continues to do "big things" in the base community and it needed the facilities to match. So, after thousands of logged volunteer hours from retired and active duty dependant spouses and the help of some "Fire Dawgs" and transition officers, the CSC Thrift Shop is now relocated on the corner of Imes and 7th Street where it held its grand opening on May 12. Several volunteers and CSC board members came out to support and help celebrate this joyous event.

You may or may not know the relationship between the Thrift Shop and the CSC. The Thrift Shop belongs to the Columbus Spouses Club, a notable non-profit and social organization on base. Aside from monthly social events, the CSC's biggest claim to fame is the scholarship money which it awards annually.

This year with the Thrift Shop proceeds, the CSC was able to provide support to several base functions, Air Force wide organizations, provide support to the local community, as well as award $5,000 in Scholarships. Some of the things we've contributed to include: Quarterly Wing Awards, Vacation Bible School, Airman and Family Readiness Center, Air Force Enlisted Village, The Palmer Home for Children, and The Humane Society just to name a few. But we don't just give money; we also provide volunteer power for service oriented projects such as the Annual Holiday Cookie Drive, Decorating the Columbus Club at Christmas, the "Happy" Fund Project, and Pilgrimage. The CSC does all that and more!

So, come on over to the Thrift Shop and consider volunteering or simply stop and shop. Either way, your support will be helping touch the lives of many right here on base and locally.
