Family and friends of the 14th Security Force Squadron were given a red carpet tour of the unit Saturday, Aug. 21 to welcome them and educate defenders loved ones about what happens while they're at work or deployed.

The 14th SFS's guests received a tour of the 14th SFS headquarter building, military working dog demonstration and brief, a chance to test their mettle with the Fire Arms Training System and watch members receive tasings.

"I think it's neat that we get to see what they do," Rachel Bailey, 14th SFS spouse said. "It helps us see the bigger picture of how everything works."

Beyond understanding the process and equipment the 14th SFS mission guests also were able to see the professionalism of the security forces members.

"I was impressed at how well the military working dog listened and how well they worked together as a team," said Kandi Price, 14th SFS spouse.

Keeping with the 14th Flying Training Wing's guidance of "Develop and Care for Airmen and their Families, Be a Wingman, Build Team BLAZE," Maj. Joseph Ringer, 14th Security Force Squadron commander, told the guests they are a integral part of the unit and that the doors of the squadron are always open to them.

"You are every bit a part of the organization and we are here if you need us," said Ringer, who was one of the individuals tased. "We can focus on the mission better when we know our families are taken care of."

Senior Master Sgt. Brian Martin, 14th SFS superintendent echoed those words and thanked the guests.

"We couldn't do our job if it wasn't for you," he said. "We appreciate what you do to support your defender."
