37th FTS turns pedestrians into pilots
A statue and flagpoles depicting the 37th Flying Training Squadron mascot sits outside the building April 12 at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi. Before it was a training squadron, it was first established as the 37th Pursuit Squadron in January 1941, where it flew the P-38 Lightning I. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class John Day)
