Who is McAllister?
A plaque hangs near the door to the Columbus Air Force Base Crash and Fire Station dedicating the building to Senior Master Sgt. Robert McAllister, a very highly decorated firefighter with more than 50 years of military and government service. In his military career alone, he earned 33 Air Medals, the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, six Meritorious Service Medals, six Air Force Commendation Medals and the Vietnamese Medal of Honor for training Vietnamese firefighters.
