Celluloid from the Walt Disney movie “Victory Through Airpower” was donated to the grandfather of Base Community Council member and treasurer Rufus Ward by Josh Meador. Ward’s grandfather, Mr. T.C. Billups, had an informal serviceman’s hangout called the “Drop in Hangar” in his basement of his house in downtown Columbus that was frequented by the Columbus AAF aviation cadets.
