Col. James P. Boster is Commander, 14th Operations Group, Columbus Air Force Base, Miss. The group conducts pilot training and Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals for more than 400 U.S. Air Force and international officers each year, using a fleet of 234 T-6A, T-38C and T-1A aircraft and 27 flight simulators. In addition the group oversees an air traffic control complex with over 300,000 aircraft movements annually. His command includes eight squadrons and over 1,300 officers, civilians, enlisted and contract personnel.

Colonel Boster was commissioned through the United States Air Force Academy in 1991 and completed his Masters of Aeronautical and Aviation Management in 1995. His subsequent flying assignments have included aircraft maintenance, flight commander, instructor pilot, mission commander, flight examiner, functional check flight pilot, and chief of standardization and evaluations. He is a command pilot with more than 2,000 flight hours and has served in Operations Provide Comfort, Northern and Southern Watch, Deliberate Forge, and Enduring Freedom. Most recently, Colonel Boster served as the Chief of Staff for the 9th Air Expeditionary Task Force - Afghanistan in Kabul.
