    14th OMRS Family Advocacy spreads awareness on domestic violence

    Domestic Violence Awareness & Prevention Month, observed every October, is a time for Airmen and families to spread awareness about domestic violence; according to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence’s website, nearly 20 people are physically abused every 20 minutes by an intimate partner in the U.S. – this equates to more than 10 million women and men annually.

    Overcoming breast cancer: Prior Columbus AFB secretary tells her story

    “It’s hard to put into words what you feel when someone drops the cancer word in your lap,” said Elana Gilbert, a prior 14th Flying Training Wing secretary. “I remember getting the phone call and I literally dropped from where I was standing onto the floor and just started crying,” said an emotional Gilbert. “It’s like someone takes your world and everything you thought you had and they flip it upside down.”
