The mission is to get a team to Wright-Patterson AFB as quick as possible with the most miles. The only way to cover the 626 miles is by running, walking, swimming, biking or the magic of elliptical workouts. Each five-member team can consist of active duty, dependents 16 years or older, retirees, Department of Defense civilians or contractors.
The twist to this year's Amazing Race is the "ultimate" team challenges that can either put a team ahead of the game or leave them stranded in some remote place far away from the destination. Each team member will be required to complete a challenge at different points along the way. The difficulty will be different for the competitive and non-competitive categories.
The Amazing Race 2007 will begin June 20 and conclude with the BLAZE 5K/10K race Sept. 20.
"For anyone looking to improve their cardiovascular health or PT times, this is an excellent way to do it", says Kesia Walker, 14th Medical Operations Squadron and the Health Education Program Manager. Teams must sign up at the fitness center by Tuesday. A mandatory meeting for one member of each team will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the 14th Medical Group training room.
