The grand opening of the 14th Flying Training Wings first Welcome Center took place July 20, 2021, on Columbus Air Force Base, Miss.

Base personnel along with community partners were invited to tour the new streamlined Welcome Center.

“The Welcome Center you will tour today was inspired by the Air Force True North Program which seeks to enhance force and family wellbeing, increased resilience, decrease negative outcomes, and optimize human performance,” said Capt. Elijah Nicholson, 14th Contracting Squadron contract administrator.

The center was designed as a one stop in-processing shop, providing appointments to permanent party members, ranging from first term Airmen, all the way up to the Wing commander.

Within the facility, members will meet with representatives from Finance, Medical, Housing, Military Personnel Flight, and the Traffic Management Office.

The center also offers a playroom for those with children, as well as a waiting area where customers can enjoy a cup of coffee, read a book, or just relax.

“The idea here is that every new Airman that comes to our base will come to our Welcome Center,” said Col. Seth Graham, 14th Flying Training Wing commander. “Their families will come. They will find connection with the Wing and should feel welcome to be a part of this team.”
